How to Block and Report Someone on Roblox

If someone is bothering you on Roblox, stop responding and leave the interaction if you want to. You can block unwanted contact and separately report content or behaviour that breaks the rules. You do not need to win an argument, persuade the other person to stop, or remain in an uncomfortable session while deciding what to do.

Blocking prevents direct contact between the two accounts, removes the friend or follower connection, and does not send the other person a block notification. Roblox: How to block another user

Choose the right tool for the problem

A person repeatedly interrupting a conversation may be someone you simply do not want to hear from. A message asking for your password or containing harassment is also something you may want Roblox to review. Think about both needs: ending the contact now and identifying the particular incident.

Keep the explanation factual. โ€œThis account sent this message during this gameโ€ is clearer than a long exchange about who started an argument. You can describe what you saw without guessing the person’s identity, motives, or behaviour elsewhere.

Block the correct account

On the website or mobile app, open the user’s profile, select the three-dot menu, and choose Block User. Inside an experience, Roblox also provides blocking through the player list or the People section of the menu. Roblox: How to block another user

Check the username before confirming. Similar display names or outfits can make a rushed selection confusing. If several players are involved, identify each account from the actual interaction rather than assuming everyone with the same clothing is the same person.

After blocking, return to a game or activity you feel comfortable using. There is no need to announce the block publicly. Avoid asking friends to confront the person on your behalf; that can turn one unwanted interaction into a much larger conversation.

Report the specific content when possible

Roblox asks users to report the offending chat, message, experience, or item. A profile-only report may not show moderators what happened. In an experience, open the reporting menu, select the person or experience, choose a reason, add relevant details, and submit. Roblox: How to Report Rule Violations

Use the report category that best matches what actually happened. In the description, include a short account of the incident and any identifying context the form requests. Do not add unrelated accusations to make the complaint sound more serious. If you did not witness something yourself, do not describe it as something you saw.

If an entire experience is the concern, focus on the content in that experience. If a single player used a game to send an inappropriate message, focus on the player and message. That distinction helps you select the report that carries the relevant information.

Keep evidence private and limited

If you make a note or screenshot for your own records, keep only what helps explain the issue. Do not publish a child’s messages, real name, location, or other personal details in an attempt to get attention. Use Roblox’s reporting tools rather than a public naming campaign.

Do not continue the conversation just to collect more material. Leaving and asking a trusted adult for help is a reasonable response. If someone requested account access and you shared information, use our account-security checklist promptly; a report alone is not a recovery plan.

How parents can help

Linked parents can manage the child’s friends from Parental Controls and block a selected account there. Roblox describes this as removing that connection and preventing it being added again without parental permission. Roblox: How to block another user

Start by asking the child what happened and what they want help with. They may be worried about losing a group of friends or being blamed for replying. Work through the account selection and report together without requiring them to retell an upsetting incident repeatedly.

If you cannot find the child in your dashboard, complete parent-account linking before relying on those controls. For future sessions, agree on a simple signal the child can use to ask you to look at the screen.

After the report

Do not assume that submitting a report guarantees a particular penalty or a response by a particular time. Concentrate on the actions you can verify: you left the interaction, selected the right account, submitted the relevant content, and reviewed any account information that was shared.

Before the next session, revisit the communication choices in our family controls guide. Keep the conversation open. A child being willing to show you an uncomfortable message is more useful than a rule they are afraid to discuss.
