How to Link a Parent Account to Your Child’s Roblox Account

Use your own Roblox account for parent access, then connect it to the child’s account through Roblox’s linking process. The most useful preparation is simple: confirm both usernames and which email address will receive the invitation. Keep those identities clear throughout the process, especially if several family members use the same browser.

Linking allows a parent to manage the child’s available controls from the parent’s own device. It is not a reason to share one login between the whole family. Roblox: Parental Controls FAQ

Decide which account belongs on each screen

Before sending an invitation, open the child’s profile together and note the username. Then make sure you can sign in to your own account independently. Do not start creating replacement accounts simply because one password is missing; that can leave you trying to connect the wrong pair. If needed, work through official account-recovery steps first.

A practical way to avoid mistakes is to keep the child’s session on their usual device and the parent’s session on another device or clearly labelled browser window. This is an organisation tip, not a technical requirement. The important point is that you can tell which account is active before agreeing to anything.

Start through settings or a genuine invitation

Roblox documents two routes: an invitation email, or the child’s Settings → Parental Controls → Add parent flow. An invited parent can create an account or use an existing one. For the email route, the email on the parent account must match the invitation address. Complete the verification shown, then select Agree to link. Roblox: Parents: How to Link Your Child’s Account

Read each confirmation with both account names in mind. If the page shows a different child, stop there and return to the intended account. If the email belongs to another caregiver, let that caregiver handle their own invitation rather than passing around their login details.

Do not approve a request merely because the message sounds urgent. If you were not expecting it, ask your child whether they initiated it and reopen Roblox through your usual route. Keep verification documents or payment details inside the official verification flow; they do not belong in a family group chat or a public support discussion.

If the invitation seems to go nowhere

Separate an email problem from an account problem. First, confirm the intended email address and look for the invitation in that mailbox. Next, check which account is signed in when the link opens. An invitation arriving successfully does not mean the browser has selected the correct parent account.

If the message opens an unfamiliar session, close it without agreeing, sign in to the intended parent account, and reopen the genuine invitation. If you see an explicit error, save its wording before retrying. Repeating the same action without recording the message makes it harder to explain what failed.

For a mismatched-email message, compare the invitation address with the email shown on your own account. Correct an actual account mistake through Roblox’s normal settings; do not invent a new identity just to get past the warning. Use the invitation route again only after the two addresses make sense.

If verification or an option is unavailable

Verification methods and account features can vary. Roblox’s newer account guidance also describes regional differences and changes in how younger accounts receive features. Follow the process offered to your account instead of borrowing another person’s identity. Roblox: What are Roblox Kids and Roblox Select?

Check whether the page is asking you to finish verification, return to the invitation, or accept the final connection. Those are different stages. A completed verification screen is not, by itself, evidence that you accepted the account link. If you cannot finish a stage, note exactly where it stops.

Return to your own Settings and open Parental Controls. Look for the intended child account, then compare the username with the one you recorded earlier. Choose a small, understandable setting to review together. Avoid changing many options while you are still working out which account is selected.

Our parental-controls setup guide covers the next decisions. If time limits are the immediate reason for linking, continue to screen-time controls after confirming the child selection.

Ask for help with a specific stage

Roblox’s support form asks for the affected username, device, and issue category. Roblox: Contact Us

Describe whether the problem is invitation delivery, account selection, verification, or final confirmation. Include the error wording and explain which steps completed successfully. Do not send passwords or one-time sign-in codes. A precise description gives support something concrete to investigate without requiring you to repeat the entire setup blindly.
